How to find SharePoint 2010 Edition

Fire up SharePoint 2010 Central Administration web site and go to the below mentioned location to find out which edition of SharePoint 2010 was currently installed.



Central Administration -> Upgrade and Migration -> Convert Farm License Type





How to find SharePoint 2010 Installation Type


Look in the registry under: To do so, we need to type in "regedit" in command prompt on Server where SharePoint installed.

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\14.0\WSS"

There will be an entry for "ServerRole" which will tell you the installation type

Stand Alone – SINGLESERVER

Farm Stand Alone – WFE

Farm Complete – APPLICATION

Fire up SharePoint 2010 Central Administration, and navigate as mentioned below.



Central Administration -> Upgrade  and Migration -> Check product and patch installation status
